Grinding Dust Extraction
Grinding dust is made up of fine particles of metal and disc/wheel material. This dust turns respirable when broken up into particles smaller than 5 microns in size. Dust produced from grinding and deburring can be harmful and dangerous, requiring an effective dust collection system.
We offer different solutions to this problem, whether you prefer using a downdraft table or on-tool extraction. Both are very efficient when properly designed.
Downdraft Table & Blower
You can work on our heavy-duty downdraft table to avoid grinding dust and fumes in the air. They come with interchangeable metal blades on the work surface and easy-access metal mesh prefilters to prevent sparks from getting in the ducts. In addition, the removable side and back metal walls will stop high-speed particles while grinding.
If you are also using Capture Arms, we can usually use the same blower and dust collector for the whole system, which reduces the overall cost. Otherwise, we will guide you in finding the best vacuum and filtration units.
Grinder Guard & Portable Unit
An HV103 portable unit with a flexible hose and a dust extraction grinder guard will be a very cost-efficient solution. Our fume extraction guards will stop high-speed particles from flying away and extract them along with other dust and fumes. The portable unit will provide you with the necessary vacuum and filtration. In addition, its tangential inlet will create a cyclonic separation of larger particles increasing the filter’s life.
On-tool extraction provides effective results and ensures freedom of movement and operator flexibility. In addition, our system fits most standard grinders.
Grinder Guard & Turbine
If you are also using fume extraction MIG guns, we can usually use the same turbine and dust collector for the whole system, which reduces the overall cost. Otherwise, we will guide you in finding the best vacuum and filtration units to accommodate your number of working stations.
